Our Vision

Taylor Wimpey’s vision for the site is to create an attractive residential environment to deliver approximately 120 new homes with access onto Blackthorn Avenue, that demonstrates how a sensitive, landscape-led design approach can create benefits for existing and new residents.

Our vision for the site is to also preserve and enhance the existing rural edge along the northern, southern and western boundaries while linking with the adjacent residential scheme on the southeastern corner.

It will also include a generous amount of public green spaces and a play area.

The new homes will range from 2-bedroom maisonettes to detached 4-bedroom houses.

Over 38% of the new homes will be affordable, with a mixture of tenures.

In 2021, Taylor Wimpey launched its environment strategy, setting out how we will help protect the environment for future generations, partnering with local suppliers to reduce the impact of the homes and developments we build, making it easier for our customers to live a sustainable lifestyle.

In addition to all other planning requirements, Taylor Wimpey will commit to and incorporate the following:

No fossil fuels. The development will be all-electric, in line with the UK’s grid decarbonisation.

Air source heat pumps to supply heating and hot water.

Installing a range of bat roost structures and bird boxes across the development. A fabric first approach to energy efficiency concentrating on high-quality/highly insulated roofs, walls and windows.

New soft biodiverse planting and new habitats for insects, birds, and other wildlife.

Electric Vehicle charging facilities for every home.
